The Mandalorian, Disney+: This week brings the highly anticipated debut of Disney’s new streaming service. In addition to a vast library of films and TV series, it’s serving up plenty of original fare. Among the shiniest new offerings is this live-action drama series that takes place in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. (Somewhere between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.) It follows the travails of a lone gunfighter (Pedro Pascal) in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic. The cast also includes Gina Carano, Carl Weathers Werner Herzog and Nick Nolte.
