Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier, who missed two months earlier this season with a thumb injury, left Friday night's game against the Marlins with what the team described as "right foot discomfort."

It wasn't immediately clear when the injury occurred, nor was there any immediate word on the severity of the injury, other than he would be re-evaluated Saturday. Kiermaier led off the game with a double and scored to give the Rays a 1-0 lead.

Kiermaier entered Friday's game hitting .179 on the season, with two home runs and 11 RBIs in 140 at-bats. The Rays replaced him by inserting C.J. Cron at first base, moving Jake Bauers to left field and moving Mallex Smith to center.
