Georgia detectives on Friday recovered the body of Mitzi Marie Babb, a 43-year-old Hernando park ranger who had been missing since Tuesday.

Her boyfriend, arrested Thursday on unrelated charges, has been called a person of interest in her disappearance.

A Department of Natural Resources helicopter pilot and Camden County (Ga.) Sheriff's lieutenant retrieved a body floating in a waterway that later was identified as Babb.

Law enforcement officers arrested Babb's boyfriend, Jeffrey Michael Morrison, 42, on charges of armed residential burglary and attempted arson, offenses that police said occurred on Thursday in Peach County, Ga.

He is being held in Hamilton County, authorities said.

The investigation is ongoing.
