DADE CITY — A woman intentionally crashed her car, with a 2-month-old girl inside, just to get the attention of her ex-boyfriend, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Tuesday night around 9 p.m., Breanna Bechtol, 21, of Weeki Wachee, was driving her car along James Road in Dade City with the infant in a car seat when she struck a pole.

According to the arrest affidavit, Bechtol didn't intend on hurting herself or the child, but instead "to gain attention from her ex-boyfriend."

Bechtol was taken to Florida Hospital Dade City for precautionary reasons and then transported to the Pasco County Jail. She is currently being held on $50,000 bail on a charge of aggravated child abuse.
