Friday and Saturday's highs of 91 degrees are projected to tie the record-high for Tampa.

Skies will be mostly sunny on Thursday afternon with a bit of a breeze that will help cut down on the heat slightly, according to 10Weather WTSP meteorologist Grant Gilmore.

Highs will reach the upper 80s, and southerly winds are expected to range between 10-15 mph with gusts near 25 mph throughout the day, Gilmore said.

Humidity increases along with the heat, Gilmore said, but not enough to bring any decent rain chances anytime soon.

The next good chance for scattered showers won't come until early next week when a cold front approaches from the northeast late Monday into Tuesday, Gilmore said.
