A cloudy start will yield to a sunny afternoon, but a chilly start to the work week as high pressure takes hold over Tampa Bay.
After a somewhat dreary weekend, clouds are lingering over the region, according to the National Weather Service. Conditions are starting off in the low to mid 50s, with the chilly feel fueled by drier air and winds from the north.
Highs will only reach the mid 60s, with overnight lows approaching 50, forecasters said.
Temperatures will gradually warm heading into the middle of the week, and the next best chance of rain comes Wednesday night. That low-pressure system could produce strong rains and isolated showers before another cool-down that will drive brisk temperatures down to the low 60s on Friday and heading into the weekend.
